Mrs. Robinson’s Rubrics
These are the rubrics that will be used in this class. Keep up with them. The percentages refer not to the total number of points, but to the percentage of points available given for each level.
Notebook/Portfolio
100% -- The materials are well organized and complete. The student’s name and the date are on each assignment or set of notes. There is evidence that the student went back over the material, through marginal notes, test/quiz corrections, or other means. The reviewer can see that the student has worked on the material!
90% -- The materials in this notebook/portfolio are good and generally well-organized and complete. there are a few components missing but the student has obviously been working consistently on the content.
80% -- Similar to a 90% score, but with several missing components. It may be disorganized, or contain work from another class. The overall quality is uneven.
70% -- Disorganized, incomplete, and thrown together. The overall quality is extremely poor.
0% -- No work turned in.
Writing Assignment
100% -- The answer shows mastery of the material. There are few if any unclear points or errors. In addition to directly answering the question, the student has brought in material from other units, other courses, personal experience, current events, or some other outside source. It is well and carefully written.
90% -- Generally complete and correct answer. The student has mastered the material and expressed it clearly. There is no reference to anything outside the direct scope of the question.
80% -- There are significant points in the answer where there are errors or omissions. The answer is poorly written, with grammatical or spelling errors.
70% -- The student has made an attempt to answer the questions, but it is extremely incomplete or confused. The answer is written ungrammatically. A mess.
0% -- Nothing turned in.
Participation
100% -- The student is always on task and prepared. The student participates appropriately. The student is always on time and has the required materials. This student is always respectful of the purpose of the class and the education of their classmates. A great student!
90% -- The student is almost always on task and prepared but on rare occasions is not. The student participates sometimes, but is never disruptive or does anything to cause the class to waste time. The student is generally on time, but on rare occasions comes late or lacks some materials. This student is getting there!
80% -- The student sometimes is off task or ill-prepared. The student generally does not participate often but only rarely is he/she a disruption in the class. The student is still struggling with organization, and so is sometimes late and without required materials. The student is working on improvement.
70% -- This student is barely making it. He/she is frequently missing some of his/her materials. He/she is late often, and is not prepared. Often, the student is off task. The student is still respectful of the class’s purpose and does not interfere with the education of the other students.
50% -- The student has problems with school and appropriate behavior. He/she is working on improvement, but has a way to go. He/she often comes without materials and/or late. Sometimes this student does not demonstrate the appropriate respect for the purpose of class or the education of his/her classmates.
0% -- This student is actively disruptive or has “checked out” and is not participating at all.
